Tummy Tuck for Mount Kisco, NY
More than 500 tummy tucks performed by Dr. Chang Soo Kim — and you recover a short drive from his door.

Home the same day, nine minutes away
A tummy tuck at Bellava is outpatient surgery. You arrive at our Joint Commission–accredited suite at 182 Route 117 Bypass Road in Bedford Hills, have the operation under general anesthesia, and go home that day — no hospital bed and no overnight stay. From Mount Kisco that last part is short: roughly four miles, about nine minutes without traffic, by the Saw Mill River Parkway and Route 117.
Recovery is where that distance earns its keep. An abdominoplasty asks more of the weeks afterwards than of the hours in the operating room, and every check-up in those weeks happens back in the building where you had surgery.
The surgeon
Dr. Chang Soo Kim has performed more than 500 tummy tucks. He earned his medical degree at the Yale School of Medicine, completed his plastic surgery residency at Yale–New Haven Hospital and is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He places the incision low, so that the scar can sit beneath the bikini line.
A recovery timeline, from a Mount Kisco sofa
Bellava’s own guidance for a full tummy tuck runs roughly like this. Your pace is Dr. Kim’s call at your follow-ups, not the calendar’s.
- The first day or two. A responsible adult takes you home and stays with you for the first 24 to 48 hours. You rest, take the pain medication prescribed, and keep the compression garment on at all times.
- The first two weeks. Swelling peaks and then starts to ease. Short, gentle walks are encouraged. Drains, if any were used, come out, and you have a follow-up visit with Dr. Kim. Most patients can work from home.
- Weeks two to three. Most people are back at a desk and doing everyday, non-strenuous things, still wearing the garment.
- Around six weeks. With Dr. Kim’s clearance, exercise and heavier lifting return.
- Three to six months. The last of the swelling settles and the final shape shows.
What being close changes
- The drive home is brief after a long day, which your driver will appreciate as much as you do.
- Garment fittings and post-op visits are in-house, with Dr. Kim’s own team, so nothing is handed off to a stranger.
- A worry gets looked at, not described. If something seems wrong in week one, you are minutes from the people who operated on you.
Mount Kisco patients ask
Will I need to stay overnight? No. Tummy tucks at Bellava are performed as outpatient procedures and you leave the same day.
How long is the operation? Typically two to five hours, depending on the technique Dr. Kim uses for you.
Is the scar permanent? Yes. A horizontal scar between the belly button and the pubic area stays, but it is placed so that underwear and swimwear cover it, and it keeps improving for 12 to 18 months.
Would a smaller operation do? If the loose skin is only below the navel, a mini tummy tuck may be enough. Read the full tummy tuck page and see Dr. Kim’s results before your free consultation.
