Bellava MedAesthetics & Plastic Surgery Center gives HydraFacials in its MedSpa at182 Rte 117 Bypass Rd, Bedford Hills, NY 10507, on Route 117 in Northern Westchester. Clients come from Bedford Hills and from Katonah, Mount Kisco, Bedford and Pound Ridge, a few minutes away. This page covers the treatment itself: the steps, who it suits, how long it takes and what it pairs well with. The full background is on our main HydraFacial page.
The steps of a HydraFacial
A HydraFacial uses one device, a vacuum tip and a series of serums to do several jobs in a single visit:
- A look at your skin. Your esthetician asks what you want from the treatment and chooses the serums to match.
- Cleanse and peel. Suction clears out the pores while a mild alpha and beta hydroxy acid peel loosens dead skin cells.
- Extract and hydrate. Blackheads and other impurities are drawn out by the device rather than with metal tools, and hyaluronic acid serums put moisture back.
- Fuse and protect. Antioxidants and peptides are worked into the skin.
- Finish. A moisturizer and a broad-spectrum sunscreen are applied before you leave.
Who a HydraFacial suits
It is gentle enough for all skin types, and for men as well as women. It is a good fit if you have:
- Clogged pores, blackheads or breakouts
- Dull, dehydrated or tired-looking skin
- Fine lines or uneven pigmentation
- Rough texture from a build-up of dead skin cells
- An event coming up and no time to wait out peeling
For acne scars or deeper texture, microneedling, which rebuilds collagen, is often the better tool; your esthetician will say so if it is.
How long a session takes
Between 30 and 60 minutes from start to finish. You feel mild suction and pressure, not pain, and your skin looks brighter as soon as you sit up.
Add-ons and pairings
The serums in every HydraFacial are chosen for your skin, whether the concern is congestion, dryness, discoloration or early signs of aging. Beyond that, our estheticians pair it with other treatments Bellava offers:
- Dermaplaning, to take off fine facial hair and the top layer of dead skin for a smoother finish.
- Chemical peels, for more exfoliation than the HydraFacial’s own mild peel.
- IPL photofacials, for sun spots, redness and uneven tone.
- Microneedling, including Vivace RF and PRP, for scars and firmness.
Ask at your visit which of these suits your skin and in what order.
