Hormone Therapy for Lewisboro, NY
Testosterone therapy for men and menopause hormone therapy for women, beginning with a consultation in person, a short drive west of Lewisboro.

For men and for women
Bellava treats both. Men with low testosterone are offered testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). Women in perimenopause, menopause or the years after are offered estrogen and progesterone. The process is the same for each, and it starts with you describing what has changed, so that first conversation is worth preparing for.
Before your first visit, note down
- When it began. Falling hormones tend to creep up rather than arrive overnight, so the point at which you first noticed broken sleep, flat energy or a shorter temper is useful.
- What you are living with. Hot flashes, night sweats, brain fog, weight gathering at the waist, muscle slipping away despite training, a fading libido: whichever apply to you.
- Your family’s health. A personal or family history of hormone-sensitive cancers, blood clots or certain heart and blood-vessel conditions can rule hormone therapy out.
- What you would like back. Better sleep, steadier mood, more energy, clearer thinking — your goals shape the plan.
- How you would rather take it. Injections give precise, adjustable dosing; creams or gels applied to the skin suit a flexible daily routine.
What happens at Bellava
You are seen in person, at the Bedford Hills office, and your history is taken in the room. Hormone levels are measured before anything is prescribed and read alongside your symptoms, since the same number does not call for the same treatment in everyone. Your plan is overseen by the medical director, Donna D’Alessio, MD, board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and follow-up labs decide any change in dose. The target is the normal, functional range in which you feel like yourself, never the highest figure a lab can print. If hormone therapy turns out not to suit you, you will be told.
The first months
Energy, mood and sleep often begin to shift within a few weeks. Libido, body composition and mental clarity usually take two to three months as levels settle. Early on, some temporary effects are common: bloating, breast tenderness or mood swings while estrogen settles in women, some acne or skin change, mild fluid retention, and soreness at an injection site.
Getting to Bedford Hills
Rechecks and repeat labs are part of the plan, so the trip matters. From Cross River, the office is about 13 minutes without traffic, west on Route 35 through Katonah; from Vista, about 27, by Route 123 and Route 35. Weekday hours run to 7 pm on Mondays and Thursdays, and Saturday appointments from 10 am to 2 pm.
Lewisboro patients ask
Can my partner and I both be seen? Yes. Because Bellava treats men and women, a couple can see the same team, each with a separate plan built from their own labs.
Will insurance pay for it? Coverage varies a great deal from plan to plan. Some cover lab testing and certain prescription hormones and others do not, so check with your insurer; the team can tell you what to expect out of pocket.
