What is a facelift?

The best candidate for a face lift is a man or woman who is in good health and whose facial skin has started to sag but whose skin retains some elasticity. Patients should also have realistic expectations and understand the risks and benefits of the procedure. It is commonly said that a facelift can make someone look 10 years younger.

Are face lift results permanent?

Like all plastic surgery, results differ from person-to-person. Plus, a facelift procedure does not stop the aging process. Still, most people can expect results to last somewhere between five and ten years.

Is there a common technique for facelift procedures?

Dr. Lyons is an expert in a variety of facelift techniques including the less invasive “mini facelift” and tailors each procedure to meet patients’ individual needs and desires.

Is a facelift performed under general anesthesia?

Most facelift procedures performed by Dr. Lyons can be carried out under are local anesthesia.

When can one resume normal activities after a facelift?

It depends on the type of face lift you have had performed. Most people can return to work anywhere between 1-2 weeks after surgery though swelling and bruising may take up to three weeks to disappear. Avoid strenuous activities for at least two weeks and limit sun exposure.
