Facelift for Yorktown Heights, NY
A mirror check before your consultation, and a board-certified surgeon to read it with you, about 18 minutes from Yorktown Heights.

Start at the mirror
Before you request a facelift consultation, spend two minutes with a mirror and good light. Ageing rarely shows up evenly, and noting which change bothers you most is the most useful thing you can bring to Dr. Chang Soo Kim. Some of what you see a facelift treats directly; some it does not touch at all; and some is better handled without surgery. Bellava is in Bedford Hills, about eight miles from Yorktown Heights and around 18 minutes without traffic, and its own eyelid surgery page counts Yorktown Heights among the nearby places patients come from.
What you might notice, and what treats it
- A softened jawline or jowls. The core job of a facelift. From incisions hidden around the ears, Dr. Kim lifts and tightens the SMAS, the supporting layer under the skin, then trims only the skin left over.
- Vertical bands in the neck, a double chin or a “turkey neck”. A neck lift tightens the platysma muscles through small incisions, often under the chin and behind the ears, and can be done alone or with a facelift.
- Deep lines from nose to mouth, or below the corners of the mouth. These nasolabial folds and marionette lines are softened into the new contour when the face is lifted as a whole.
- Cheeks that look flatter than they were. Fat can be grafted into them during a facelift. Without surgery, dermal fillers restore cheek volume.
- Hooded upper lids or bags beneath the eyes. A lift does not change the eyelids. Eyelid surgery removes the extra skin and fat, usually with seven to ten days of bruising and healing.
- Rough texture, sun damage or fine lines. These belong to the skin itself. Laser resurfacing can be added during a facelift, or done on its own as skin rejuvenation.
If the changes are early
Bellava recommends its liquid facelift, fillers with or without Botox, for early to moderate ageing, with results lasting about 12 to 18 months. A surgical lift is the better fit once laxity is more advanced. Dr. Kim will tell you plainly which side of that line you are on.
The operation and the surgeon
A facelift at Bellava is an outpatient operation, performed under local anesthesia with sedation and closed with dissolvable stitches, so you recover at home. Chang Soo Kim, MD, a graduate of the Yale School of Medicine who trained at Yale–New Haven Hospital, is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
