Microneedling for Somers, NY
Scars and uneven texture improved as your skin rebuilds its own collagen, about 13 minutes from Somers town hall.

A treatment many people choose for scars
Acne can leave its mark long after the breakouts end, and an operation or an injury can leave a line that never quite fades. Microneedling is one of the ways Bellava improves how such scars look. Sterile needles create microscopic channels in the skin, and the skin responds by making fresh collagen and elastin, which gradually smooth and firm it. That collagen keeps forming for months after each session, so scars soften over the course of treatment rather than in a single visit.
Other reasons to consider it
- Stretch marks, especially after pregnancy
- Enlarged pores and rough, uneven texture
- Sun spots, hyperpigmentation and a dull tone
- Fine lines and crow’s feet
- Slackening skin at the jawline and around the mouth and eyes
Three versions
- Standard microneedling, through titanium or steel needles that adjust from 0.25 mm to 2.5 mm, with nourishing serums or hyaluronic acid applied so they sink into the fresh channels.
- Microneedling with PRP, platelet-rich plasma drawn from your own blood, for stronger regeneration.
- Vivace, which adds radiofrequency energy to the needling.
All three are performed by Bellava’s licensed medical estheticians, Semira Crecco-Donnelly, who is certified in Vivace, and Natalina McEwan. A numbing cream goes on first, so most patients feel little or nothing.
Protecting the new collagen
What you do at home affects the result as much as the treatment does:
- Stay out of direct sun for at least 48 hours, and protect your skin from it carefully throughout the course.
- Wash and moisturize only with the gentle products the staff recommend.
- Go without makeup, exfoliants and hot showers for several days.
- Let dry, flaking skin shed by itself rather than picking it.
- Drink plenty of water and eat foods rich in antioxidants and protein.
- Leave laser treatments, chemical peels and waxing aside while the skin recovers.
- Once healed, bring in collagen-supporting products such as retinol, vitamin C serum, hyaluronic acid and peptides.
The course, from Somers
Bellava suggests three to six sessions four to six weeks apart, then a maintenance treatment every six to twelve months. That makes several trips, and each one from Somers town hall takes about 13 minutes without traffic, most of it on I-684, or nearer 17 minutes from Lincolndale or Granite Springs.
Somers patients ask
What will my skin look like afterwards? Red for 12 to 48 hours, then dry and flaky for a few days as older skin sheds.
Is anyone unsuitable? It suits most skin types. The exceptions are people who form keloid scars, those whose acne is very active and some with particular skin disorders, while very sensitive skin is kept away from the deepest needle settings.
Does it go well with Botox or filler? Yes. Microneedling ahead of injectables is one of the pairings Bellava suggests, planned with the injectors.
