Two ways a filler puts volume back

When you ask about fillers at Bellava, one of the first choices is not where to treat but how you would like the change to arrive.

Straight away. Hyaluronic acid fillers, including Juvéderm, Restylane, Restylane Lyft and SkinVive, are gels made from a substance your skin already contains. They bind water, so the added volume is visible as you leave. Restylane Lyft, designed to lift the cheeks and midface, typically lasts six to twelve months.

Gradually. Sculptra and Radiesse prompt your body to make its own collagen. Sculptra, a poly-L-lactic acid, is given over a series of sessions spaced weeks apart and keeps improving for up to six months after the last one; its effect can last around two years. Radiesse, made of calcium hydroxylapatite, gives some support at once and then builds collagen underneath, with results that usually last 12 to 14 months.

Before and after the visit

Mention any skin condition or allergy, and ask your injector ahead of time about blood-thinning medicines or supplements, since avoiding them is part of the usual preparation. Afterwards, most people resume normal activities at once; minor swelling or redness can last a few days. Bleeding, pain, signs of infection or an allergic reaction are reasons to call the practice promptly.
